At the institution’s first commencement ceremony in 1949, legendary Wilmington College President John T. The Office for Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance (SPARC) partners with the research and academic community to provide timely technical expertise in finding funding, preparing and submitting proposals, obtaining and negotiating awards, stewarding sponsored funding, and offering compliance solutions in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Housing services

Providing the necessary accommodations to ensure complete access to, and full participation in, the educational process does not require the instructor to compromise academic standards when evaluating academic performance.

Accommodations are made based on the documentation supplied by the student.

To obtain accommodations the student should contact the Disability Resource Center and present their documentation to the Director for review and verification. When the documentation is verified and approved, the student will be supported in his/her request for academic accommodations.

Library services

William Madison Randall Library supports the mission of the University by providing information resources and learner-centered services and by cultivating a rich physical and virtual environment dedicated to the open exchange of ideas and an information-literate community.

ICT services

Randall Library and TAC provide a variety of resources to support your technology needs!

  • Over 115 computers, including Macs, in the first floor Learning Commons
  • Laptops (Dell and Apple) available to checkout at the TAC for in-library use
  • Designated Graduate Student space on the second floor with additional computers
  • Specialized computers, software and technology assistance provided by the TAC

Student Life

Campus life

At the heart of campus, the Campus Life facilities serve as the crossroads of the UNCW community, providing a welcoming place for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors to connect with each other as they share meals, rest and study, enjoy programs, and celebrate during events.

Sports facilities

The UNCW Sport Club Program is made up of UNCW Student Organizations and is administered by the Department of Campus Recreation. The Department of Campus Recreation provides professional support to the clubs and the Competitive Sports Staff serve as advisors to the Sport Club Council, clubs, and members. 

Student clubs

The UNCW Alumni Association is the lead supporter in the university's strategic vision. Our purpose is to connect and involve alumni, students and friends in the promotion and advancement of the university.

Overall, UNCW was an amazing experience. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved, meet new people, explore the city and beach, and study abroad. However, it's one of those scenarios where you will only get as much as you put in. If you make the effort, your experience will be unforgettable!

My four years at UNCW could have not gone better in any way! Being an international student, I thought everything would be more challenging but the student community and the campus staff and faculty were always very eager to help me out whatever the issue was! In no time, I felt like home and sometimes even forgot I was from a whole other country! UNCW gets the job done...

I like the people in my school because many of them are friendly and have a welcoming atmosphere. I enjoy eating on-campus food or restaurants. Honestly, I wish I have more simple meat (like grilled pork/ beef/ chicken) options though but overall I do not mind eating food here. I think my school can improve the transportation issues. I am an international student here so...
