The College JumpStart Show Grit Scholarship rewards students who demonstrate grit and who continue to push themselves in spite of obstacles or challenges. Attending college is not an easy feat and takes years of commitment to achieve. This is your time to tell us what challenges you have faced and how you’ve demonstrated grit to get to where you are. (If this topic doesn’t speak to you, you may also write about any topic of your choice.)

Eligibility

  • The College JumpStart Show Grit Scholarship is an annual, merit-based competition - financial need is not considered.
  • Open to current student (high school 10th-12th or college) or planning to enter college within the next 12 months.
  • The main requirement is that you can express how you have demonstrated grit and continued to push yourself despite obstacles or challenges.

Complete the online application including the personal statement.

Please answer ONE of the following questions in 250 words or less.

(1) What is a challenge or setback you have faced and what did you learn from the experience? -OR-

(2) Write about a time when "hard work" paid off. -OR-

(3) Write about the topic of your choice.
