Concordia University was founded in 1893 to provide a Christian learning environment for high school students preparing to enter the professional ministries of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The first students were welcomed to class on September 13, 1893, in temporary quarters next to Zion Lutheran Church in St. Paul.

The academic programs are designed to meet the needs of our region by teaching the skills and abilities employers seek, yet within a liberal arts framework that also gives our graduates career versatility. Students apply concepts they learn in class to real-world challenges using tools such as case studies, projects, service- learning, internships, research, study trips and more to develop the practical knowledge that’s demanded in the job market.

The NRC Research Associateship Programs (RAP) promote excellence in scientific and technological research conducted by the U.S. government through the administration of programs offering graduate, postdoctoral, and senior level research opportunities at sponsoring federal laboratories and affiliated institutions.

Concordia Career Development serves ALL students and alumni for life through individual career coaching, assessments, career class, specialized programs and events, online job board, employer recruiting, job fairs and more on a full range of academic and career topics.
