Overview

Program Overview

Majoring in the Theatre major from Concordia University, St. Paul involves the study of theatrical works and their production. How can breathing and rhythm influence acting performances? How are the methods of creative dramatics applied in church settings? How are musical theatre performances choreographed? You’ll explore theatre history, playwriting, acting, and directing, as well as lighting, scenery and costume design.

You’ll experience a rich blend of traditional classroom, hands-on laboratory, and performance opportunities that will help prepare you for entry into professional careers such as actor, director, theatre manager, technical director, stage manager, set designer, scene shop supervisor, playwright, multimedia artist and animator, lighting designer, dancer, costume designer, choreographer, or other performance professional.

We offer theatre scholarships as well as talent-based theatre/dance scholarships. Auditions are required. For more information, please contact Mark Rosenwinkel.
