The Didactic Program in Dietetics program at Framingham State University will develop a course of study that enables graduates to actively participate in the changing food environment, in the nutrition education process, and in health care delivery systems according to the highest standards of client service and professional ethics.

The Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) provides all required coursework. In the DPD, there are two pathways to complete your master’s degree and supervised practice:

Earn a B.S. in Food and Nutrition with a Nutrition and Dietetics Education 4+1 concentration. In your last year of the undergraduate program, you will take three graduate courses, which will count toward FSU’s 100% online MEd in Nutrition Education. In the last year of the undergraduate program, you will also apply to a dietetic internship. You will be able to complete your MEd while you complete your dietetic internship. Together the MEd and dietetic internship will take about 1 additional year after you complete the DPD.

Earn a B.S. in Food and Nutrition with a Nutrition and Dietetics concentration. In your last year of the undergraduate program, you will apply to a dietetic internship and a master’s program (some dietetic internships and master’s programs are combined). It will usually take 1.5-2 years to complete a dietetic internship and master’s program or a combined dietetic internship/master’s program.
