The Food Science and Human Nutrition Program

Dietetic Option: Dietitians may work in the clinic or the community, with many employment options in the public and private sectors. The dietetics program at University of Hawaii at Manoa, the only one in Hawai‘i, is accredited by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Pre-Professional Nutrition Option: Students who are pre-med, pre-dental, or prepharmacy can complete courses required for their professional schools while pursuing the FSHN pre-professional option.

Food Science Options: Students pursue learning in food chemistry, microbiology, structure, engineering, safety, regulation, sanitation, quality control, and business-oriented courses.

Sports and Wellness Nutrition Option: Students are prepared to enter many different health-related careers such as health educator, corporate wellness educator, strength and conditioning coach, group exercise instructor, personal trainer, and many more.
