Overview
The Mechanical Engineering Department's vision at California State University Fullerton provides opportunities for students to be involved with the design, research, development, manufacture, testing, distribution, support, maintenance and recycling of devices and products. Automobiles, airplanes, home appliances, robots, rockets, space capsules, printers and computer hardware are some of the various products that have been customarily designed and developed by mechanical engineers.

General requirements
First-year students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Complete the 15-unit comprehensive “A-G” pattern with a grade of C- or better by high school graduation.
- "A-G" requirement may not be completed during the summer term prior to fall enrollment.
- Earn a competitive Multi Factor Admission Score (MFAS) as described below. Minimum MFAS will fluctuate each term based on the strength of the applicant pool.
- Prepare application materials such as transcripts, test scores (AP/IB), current and planned courses, annual household income, citizenship status and social security number (if available).
