University College was established in 1853 by The University of Toronto Act as a nonsectarian institution of higher education.Architects Frederic Cumberland and William Storm, inspired by Oxford and Cambridge Universities in England, designed the building in the Romanseque-Revival style. Construction began on October 4, 1856.


Students are focussed on the finish line for exams and final projects at this time of year – so when email reminders for course evaluations start pouring in, it can be tempting to let them slide.

Library services

Facilitated by Living Library Librarians, visitors "borrow" the human book for up to 25 minutes and engage in free flowing conversationThe informal "Reader-Book" interaction is a positive and safe way to question and explore pre-conceived notions around race, class, gender, religion, sexuality, and to share personal narratives through open dialogue

ICT services

U of T Mississauga supports the same wireless networks (UofT and eduroam) that are available across the university.

Student Life

Campus life

The campus attracts top students to the first-entry faculties of Arts and Science, Applied Science and Engineering, Music and Kinesiology & Physical Education. With advanced coursework or an undergraduate degree, students can enter one of the professional programs including Architecture, Landscape, and Design, Biomedical Communications, Dentistry, Education, Forestry, Information, Law, Management, Medical Radiation Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology and Theology.

Sports facilities

The RAWC, the Recreation, Athletics and Wellness Centre opened in September of 2006. The new facility compliments our existing space and provides much needed additional facilities such as: a 25 metre, 8 lane pool, 12 person hot pool, double gymnasium with seating for 880 spectators, new fitness centre, new studio, indoor running track and a sports medicine clinic.
