About

History

University College was established in 1853 by The University of Toronto Act as a nonsectarian institution of higher education.Architects Frederic Cumberland and William Storm, inspired by Oxford and Cambridge Universities in England, designed the building in the Romanseque-Revival style. Construction began on October 4, 1856.

Housing services

The Town House style residence community consists of 4 bedrooms each with their own door lock.  This unit has 2 levels including a living/dining room, kitchen on the ground floor, and bedrooms and a bathroom on the second level.  This unit includes a backdoor patio and extra storage space.

The Apartment style community consists of a single level apartment with two full bathrooms, four bedrooms each with their own door lock, a kitchen and living/dining area.  Each apartment has extra storage space, and a TV lounge for relaxation and informal gathering.

The Dormitory style community has individual bedrooms with hallway access each with their own door lock and a shared washroom with one other connecting guest room.

Library services

Sports facilities

The RAWC, the Recreation, Athletics and Wellness Centre opened in September of 2006. The new facility compliments our existing space and provides much needed additional facilities such as: a 25 metre, 8 lane pool, 12 person hot pool, double gymnasium with seating for 880 spectators, new fitness centre, new studio, indoor running track and a sports medicine clinic.
