About

The Peace, Conflict and Justice programme at the University of Toronto offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary bachelor degree. This public study mode course explores the causes of global strife and paths to resolution. Students engage in rigorous academic training over a standard multi-year duration to address urgent humanitarian issues.

Overview

The Peace, Conflict and Justice programme at the University of Toronto provides undergraduates with a sophisticated interdisciplinary education focused on the central pillars of global stability. Students examine the underlying causes of conflict, the lived experiences of those in volatile regions, and diverse approaches to establishing sustainable peace and justice.

This academic path addresses some of the most pressing humanitarian challenges facing the modern world. By analysing issues across local, national, and global levels, participants develop the critical skills necessary to understand complex socio-political dynamics. The curriculum is housed within the Trudeau Centre at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, ensuring a high-standard research environment.

Furthermore, the programme offers robust training in various research methodologies, strengthening the analytical capabilities of its graduates. Other requirements

General requirements

  • While we welcome students with diverse experiences, this is a limited enrollment program that can accommodate a limited number of students.
  • Admission is determined by a range of criteria, including at the initial stage a student's academic background, a short essay, a writing sample, a resume, and as a later stage of the process, a personal interview on invitation of the Program Director.
  • In the past, enrollment in Peace, Conflict and Justice has proven to be extremely competitive across all of these dimensions, and an applicant's success in any one of these dimensions does not necessarily guarantee admission to the program in any given year.
