About

History

Brandeis University was founded in 1948 by the American Jewish community at a time when Jews and other ethnic and racial minorities, and women, faced discrimination in higher education.

Brandeis’ visionary founders established a nonsectarian research university that welcomed talented faculty and students of all backgrounds and beliefs.

Find yourself. Lose yourself. Get your answers questioned and your questions answered. A Brandeis education is a vigorous exploration in critical analysis, creativity and self-expression. Our faculty combine innovative teaching with groundbreaking research and scholarship. Immerse yourself in the liberal arts and sciences, and engage in research that excites you, with faculty leaders in their fields.

Research

Inquiry, scholarship, collaboration and a passion to improve human lives are the building blocks of our DNA. That’s why Brandeis is one of just 65 members of the Association of American Universities, an organization of elite research institutions in North America.

Career

Create the connections and get the experience to accelerate your career. Networking opportunities, funded internships and advice from successful alums in your chosen profession are just some of the resume-building strategies we offer.

Accreditation

Brandeis University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) Commission on Institutions of Higher Education reaffirmed Brandeis University’s accreditation in fall 2006.

The NEASC Commission commended GPS on the quality of its online programs, on the uniform content and quality between online and classroom-based courses of the same course title, and on the attention given to advising and support for students enrolled in online courses.

Many online degrees at other institutions lack accreditation. We’re proud to say that all programs at Brandeis Graduate Professional Studies are accredited.

The program itself was very good.

The Brandeis Experience
Anonymous rated 4 out of 5 stars

My experience at Brandeis was incredible, but it did take me a while to find my social niche on campus. Everyone is very friendly, but the Brandeis experience is not for everyone. My program, Environmental Studies, is underfunded and understaffed. It's a small major, but I enjoyed that because it meant I got to interact closely with my professors and really get to know...

Having completed my first year at Brandeis' and started my second-year internship with a non-profit leaves me well equipped and position well for the job market. I am a gender specialist in the making and so happy. I am so grateful for such a great recommendation through global study. I have met people learn different cultures and an in-depth acquisition of world-class...
