Overview
Within the Hispanic Studies at Brandeis University major are several areas of emphasis: 19th- to 21st-century Spanish and Latin American cultural studies, Cervantes, colonialism and post-colonialism in Latin America, early modern Spanish theater, Latinas in the United States, media and film.

You will learn from faculty with affiliations all across campus, including in film studies, theatre arts, comparative literature, Latin American and Latino studies and women’s, gender and sexuality studies. Our faculty are nationally recognized scholars who also love to teach. Our curriculum is flexible enough to enable you to pursue your individual interests—including by writing a senior essay or thesis.

- $80 application fee (or fee waiver).
- Official copies of all high school transcripts and/or GED certificate and/or marks from any externally graded national exams.
- A school report and a letter of recommendation from a secondary school official.
- High School Senior Grades: Send your senior midyear grades as soon as they become available. We understand this may not be until late January or early February for some students, though we encourage you to send them as soon as possible. For Early Decision applicants, submit first marking period grades, which may be first quarter or first trimester grades.
