Overview

University of Massachusetts Lowell's Certificate Program in Graphic Design and Digital Imaging offers students interested in breaking into the field of graphic design and electronic publishing an innovative mix of traditional design courses along with several courses in multimedia, web development, desktop publishing, and more. Previously available to students on campus for the past 15 years, UMass Lowell is now pleased to offer this undergraduate certificate program entirely online. As part of the program, students will complete numerous design projects for their portfolios, and get hands-on experience using software such as Adobe InDesign®, Photoshop®, Illustrator® and others.

Learning outcomes

Certain courses in this program may also be applied towards the certificates in Multimedia Applications and Website Design & Development, plus students may also use the graphic design courses as concentration electives in UMass Lowell's online Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology.

The University has built a solid reputation by offering one of the largest selections of online programs available through a traditional university. Courses are taught by full-time faculty who are experts in their fields, and by adjunct faculty who, as practicing professionals, bring real-world experience to the online class discussions.
