Description

When a child is raised in foster care, he or she often faces immense adversity and must develop resilience and adaptability in order to overcome the various challenges they may face. The Whitlock Law Hope and Opportunity Scholarship is designed to celebrate and support these resilient individuals as they transition into higher education.

Their scholarship is worth $1,500 and is offered to those who grew up in foster care and are now pursuing a college degree. Their goal is to empower these individuals to tell their stories and share how growing up in foster care impacted their lives.

Eligibility

College students interested in applying for our Spring 2025 Hope and Opportunity Scholarship are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants spent a portion or entirety of their childhood in the foster care system.
  • Applicants should be pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited university within the United States.
  • Applicants should be at least 17 years of age.
  • Applicants should be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
