Description

SWE Scholarships support those who identify as a woman and pursue an ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student program in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, and fields related to engineering globally.

In the Barr family, a passion for science and engineering is shared by all. Scott’s wife, sister, and daughter all pursued careers in STEM. Unfortunately, each encountered unique challenges stemming from gender biases and stereotypes that permeate the field. Scott, being aware of these obstacles, was driven to create a more inclusive environment. He firmly believed in the importance of recruiting and supporting women in engineering and science, aiming to break down the barriers that hindered their progress. Scott was committed to fostering a more equitable future for all.
