Overview

The broad educational objective of the program is to develop thinkers, analysts, managers, and leaders who possess expertise in both theoretical frameworks and experiential dimensions of homeland security. The program will provide students with a strong knowledge base in the field as well as a toolbox of analytical and communication skills needed for careers in the field.

For greater convenience and ease of access, the program is offered online only.

The BS in Homeland Security Studies at Sam Houston State University is designed to provide graduates with the following marketable skills:
