The Health, Wellness and Exercise Science Department at University of Dubuque plans to offer three distinct programs of study: bachelor of science in both wellness and exercise science (WES), human health science (HHS), and a bachelor of arts in sport marketing and management (SMM).

What You Will Learn

Students majoring in Wellness and Exercise Science at University of Dubuque are exposed to a variety of practicums and required to complete an internship.
Practicums involve working with strength & conditioning or wellness programs on campus, while the internship is conducted off-campus in a setting that best reflects the professional interest of the student.
Students are prepared to pursue a variety of nationally recognized professional certifications upon successful completion of the Wellness and Exercise Science degree.

Program of Study

A University of Dubuque degree in the Wellness and Exercise Science is designed to introduce students to a variety of future careers within the wellness and fitness profession. Students are prepared for the management of wellness and fitness programs in corporate fitness centers, clinical and community wellness programs, and for possible graduate studies in exercise science. In addition to required courses offered within the department, students may complete elective courses in basic sciences, statistics, psychology, or business.

A completed application for admission to the University of Dubuque (paper, on-line, or The Common Application) (LIFE application for LIFE students), which includes an essay, secondary school report, and two teacher/professor evaluations;
A $25 nonrefundable application fee;
ACT or SAT test results;
TOEFL or IELTS;
Official transcripts submitted directly by the high school/college(s) attended, or an approved transcript processing agency (high school transcripts are not required for transfer students who have earned 24 of more transferrable credits).
The University also recommends a personal interview with a college admission counselor as part of the application process.
Admission Deposit The University of Dubuque requires a $200 admission deposit to confirm enrollment from admitted applicants planning to be degree-seeking students.
