Student Learning Outcome: Students will demonstrate an understanding of the principles and practices common to the major areas of marketing.

Complete the Business Foundation Curriculum in the freshman and sophomore years.

General Requirements

Freshmen

High school requirements for Top 10%

The State of Texas Uniformed Admission Policy and Texas Education Code (TEC) 51.803 - 51.809 requires all first-time freshmen seeking admission at a public Texas four-year institution to meet one of the following college readiness standards.

  • Successfully complete the Recommended or Advanced/Distinguished high school programs or a pre-college high school curriculum equivalent in content and rigor; or
  • Satisfy ACT’s College Readiness Benchmarks (English-18, Reading-22, Mathematics-22, and Science-23) on the ACT assessment; or
  • Earn at least a 1500 out of 2400 SAT assessment score (score considers: Verbal, Math, & Writing) or the equivalent.

Automatic admission standards

If you graduated in the top 25% of your high school class and successfully completed the required pre-college curriculum above, you will gain automatic admission without minimum SAT or ACT score requirements. You are, however, still required to submit official scores on either exam to the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.

The SAT scores reflected in the tables below include the combination of the Critical Reading and Math Sections. Our current test score requirements do not include the writing section component.

  • A minimum SAT score of 1500 out of 2400 (score considers: Verbal, Math & Writing) or the equivalent.
  • Those applicants who do not meet Regular Admission Requirements may be considered for admission under ourAlternative Admission Procedure.
