Overview
The Engineering Technology program from the University of Memphis also emphasizes human relations, technological, and management skills.
Graduates are referred to as Engineering Technologists and work as members of the engineering team focusing primarily on the implementation of new technologies. Students will select two fields of study providing depth in subjects of interest to them.
Technical electives will provide breadth of study that supports their general knowledge base. Within the core are courses that prepare students to manage people and projects as they grow in their career.
Graduates of this program are employed in the areas of quality assurance, product/software support, applied design and development, manufacturing support. plant management, computerized process control, systems planning, process planning, supervision and technical sales.
Educational Objectives:
- Attain gainful employment in a related technical field providing personal and professional growth;
- Pursue professional development such as additional formal education, certifications and workshops;
- Attain increasing levels of responsibility and leadership in their own chosen field;
- Apply a depth of knowledge and ability to manage, design, develop, analyze, and/or implement technical projects, demonstrating a quality of performance necessary to succeed in engineering technology careers.

No Credential Evaluations are required for undergraduate and graduate students admission for the following year
Freshman admission is competitive and based upon a comprehensive review of the student’s academic record. The primary factors include the high school/secondary grade point average and demonstrated English proficiency.
All students, both freshmen and transfer, must apply online for admission as an undergraduate student
Pay the non-refundable undergraduate application fee of $50
Applicants should upload a copy of their unofficial international transcript or marks sheet (high school/secondary or college/university) using our secure document upload system.
All international transfer applicants must have their international documents evaluated by a US credentialing agency that holds membership with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)
