Key Features

The Nutrition and Foods program at Texas State University provides state-of-the-science education and training opportunities focused on1) the efficacy of specific nutrients and whole foods-based diets in the promotion of health and treatment of chronic diseases, and 2) promotion of healthy dietary patterns across the life course among diverse individuals and families, with the goal of fostering health equity.

Upon graduation, many pursue the Registered Dietitian credential and pursue post-graduate educational opportunities such as the Texas State MS in Human Nutrition.

When reviewing your application, Texas State will consider your high school curriculum, admission essay(s), extracurricular involvement, leadership, community service, work experience, quality and competitive level of courses taken and grades earned, in addition to other factors presented in your application.
We strongly encourage anyone who is not offered freshman admission to attend another college, complete 30 hours of transferable credit with a minimum GPA of a 2, and apply for transfer admission.
