Overview

While many students focus on media production, others complete a mix of production and industry-related course work.

Typically students take elective courses from several programs offered by the School of Communication. In addition to formal classroom work, all students within the Electronic Media major at University of Miami are encouraged to become involved in UMTV, the school’s cable television channel and WVUM-FM, the university’s student-run radio station serving South Florida.

Goals

The goal of the Electronic Media major is to provide students with a broad-based understanding of the Electronic Media industries while allowing them to specialize in an area of their choosing. Students in this major have the opportunity to customize their program of study. While some students focus on electronic media production, others complete a more eclectic mix of electronic media production and industry-related course work.

Complete and submit the Common Application. Upon submitting, you will be asked to pay a $70 nonrefundable application fee.

If you have attended a secondary school outside of the United States, you must submit your official secondary school documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, examination results, etc.)

We require you to submit two letters of recommendation: one from a high school guidance counselor and one from a teacher.
