About
History
The history of technical education in this country has been a century old. It all began in 1904 when a Technical School began its operation on Weld Road (now Jalan Raja Chulan) to teach Technical Assistants for the Federated Malay States Departments of Railways, Survey and Public Works.

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has been recognized as one of the best university in Malaysia in producing high quality graduates. Once again this year, Career Centre UTM will be organizing UTM Career Carnival 2018 in the middle of April 2018 , at Dewan Sultan Iskandar (DSI), UTM Johor Bahru.

Housing services
Students Affairs Office provides 10 residential colleges that can accommodate up to 14,774 students in one academic session and 301 housing units for students who bring along their spouse and children to stay with them throughout their studies in UTM.
There are two types of housing available for the students. One of which is the apartment type (a – two – room and a – three – room apartment) and the other is the town house with two rooms. Each housing unit is furnished with basic facilities such as furniture and refrigerator for the students’ convenience.

Campus life
Moving within the campus can be a confusing and frustrating thing if you do not know your way around. UTM provides free campus bus services, the schedule can be accessed here . Overall, it is a mixed one. Sometimes the sky shine brights and sometimes it is cloudy. The lecturers are great, although sometimes can be quite a nuance, but you can safely say they are all experienced and knowledgeable people. Some facilities are new, with great tech to work with but some can be traced back to cold war era.
