My overall experience at the university was very positive. Teachers and faculty were friendly and usually open for questions. There are lots of opportunities to take if you ask questions and show enthusiasm. There are many great student organizations and ways to get involved both on and off campus.
This was a great place for research and also for networking. There were many opportunities to work with experts and learn in a hands-on atmosphere.
UAB has a great Anthropology program with attentive teachers in all 4 fields. The Anthropology Student Association is a great way to make friends and learn more about the outside world of anthropology. I would say there are many opportunities to focus in different areas if you want to, or to get a 4-field approach if you are unsure what area you like at first.
