The University of Alabama at Birmingham Philosophy alumni have become White House interns and Marshall Scholarships recipients. One graduate was named CEO of the largest group of cardiac surgeons in Birmingham.
The philosophy department co-sponsors two teams that compete in ethics debate competitions. In 2015, one team won the Bioethics Bowl and beat teams from Dartmouth, UCLA, Rutgers, Stanford, and Georgetown.
