Overview
The Women's Studies program at University of Florida draws on interdisciplinary scholarship to deepen students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, and practice.
Students take courses taught by award-winning faculty in the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, and may take approved courses offered in departments across the university as electives. Students are encouraged to pursue opportunities in experiential learning through internships and mentored research.
Academic Learning Compact
The Bachelor of Arts in Women and Gender Studies provides knowledge of the core concepts of the interdisciplinary fields of gender and women's studies. It offers insights into gender's role in shaping human experience in US and international contexts. Students will learn the theories behind gender and women's studies and how to interpret texts in light of those theories.
They will also learn the field's research methods and they will demonstrate the ability to communicate critical perspectives in the field.

General requirements
- All international applicants should apply online.
- Submit the non-refundable $30 application fee (U.S. currency drawn on a U.S. bank or credit card); an application will not be considered without this fee.
- Freshmen must submit official SAT or ACT (with writing test) scores.
- Applicants whose native language is not English must submit official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
- Freshman applicants with coursework completed outside the US must submit at least three full years of their most current secondary school transcripts, in addition to the final/senior year schedule or predicted grades, in both native language of instruction, and if applicable, a certified English translation.
