Student experiences are augmented with research experiences provided by our faculty, the ability to mix and match majors and minors to suit the student’s preferences and needs, and through access to internships, study abroad opportunities and the University Honors Program. A number of research centers, teacher education, and second-language acquisition programs are also contained within the college.
Programme Structure
Courses include:
- International Studies students specialize in one of four geographic areas and learn a language widely spoken in that area: Africa and the Middle East, Asia and the South Pacific, Europe, or Latin America and the Caribbean.
- An seminar will familiarize you with SIU resources, departments, and professors as well as international opportunities and global perspectives.
- Additional coursework, drawn from multiple departments across campus, provides both the breadth needed for an international perspective and the opportunity to more fully explore your area of specialization.
