Overview

The Economics major delivered by University of Nevada, Las Vegas , is for students who like analyzing multiple angles of complex problems. UNLV offers two economics majors: the Bachelor of Arts in Economics (this page) and the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Economics.

The BA program is ideal for students interested in economics applied to topics beyond business. Students may be interested in working in policy or pursuing an advanced degree in economics, law, public administration, or other social sciences. The BA includes all the economics courses as the BSBA but without the core business courses, so students have room in their schedules to focus on additional areas of interest. Many students in this program have a second major or a minor in areas like political science, computer science, math, or a foreign language. Students considering graduate school in economics should focus on math electives.
