Accredited by the British Psychological Society as the basis for graduate membership of the society, The Human and Social Sciences degree delivered by Cardiff University allows you to build up a range of skills and knowledge on issues such as social change, gender, class and ethnicity, whilst developing a critical understanding of psychology.
The only course of its kind currently on offer in the United Kingdom, this course provides an integrated perspective on psychology, which emphasises its social, conceptual and historical aspects, along with a core of social research methods.
In additions to modules in Psychology and research methods, you will be able to choose from a range of modules in Education, Sociology, Social Analytics and Social Policy.

Placements
There are a number of placement or study abroad opportunities associated with this Programme. Students will have the opportunity to choose an optional module that include a work-based placement in year two. In addition, students have the option of studying abroad or spending a year on placement in year 3, extending their studies to a four year programme. The application process for spending a year abroad or on placement will take place at the start of your second year of studies. These opportunities may be partly conditional upon achieving certain minimum academic results in other modules.

- Extended/International Project Qualification: Applicants with grade A in the EPQ/IPQ will typically receive an offer one grade lower than the standard offer. Please note that any subject specific requirements must still be met.

- 32-31 overall or 665 in 3 HL subjects.
- From September 2023, there will be a new qualification called the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales (level 3). This qualification will replace the Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (Welsh Baccalaureate). The qualification will continue to be accepted in lieu of one A-Level (at the grades listed above), excluding any specified subjects.
