The Yr Academi Gymraeg Betty Campbell Scholarship supports students studying part of their degree through the medium of Welsh who may face barriers or uncertainty in doing so. Named in honour of Betty Campbell, Wales' first Black headteacher, the scholarship provides financial support and opportunities to engage with the University's Welsh-language community.

Description

The Yr Academi Gymraeg Betty Campbell Scholarship is available to students already enrolled at Cardiff University who study at least 20 credits per year through the medium of Welsh.

The scholarship particularly encourages applications from students from underrepresented or marginalised backgrounds, or those who may face challenges studying in Welsh. In addition to financial support, recipients are encouraged to become involved with Yr Academi Gymraeg and act as Welsh-language student ambassadors.

Benefits

Successful students can receive up to £1,000 per year for a maximum of three years.
