Programme Structure

Sy Syms honors students must spend at least three full years on campus while maintaining a comparable level of excellence in Jewish studies.

Required Courses

All Sy Syms honors students will be required to successfully complete:

  • Six honors courses of which 1) At least two must be from the Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein Honors Program or S. Daniel Abraham Honors Program and 2) At least three must be  Sy Syms honors courses
  • Honors business entrepreneurship project/internship
  • Sy Syms entrepreneurship seminar

English Language Requirements

You need the following TOEFL iBT ® score:

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

Candidates are expected to meet the following criteria in order to apply:

  • High school GPA of 85 or above (or a strong B average)
  • SAT score of 1170 (out of 1600) or above or ACT composite score of 24 or above
Additionally, all Honors applicants are required to take the SAT I or ACT exam.
