Studying at Humboldt means gaining real-world experience that you wouldn’t get as an undergraduate at many other universities. Hands-on learning experiences are built into your core major coursework and you have the opportunity to work with faculty on their research and projects, or develop your own.

Using a community health needs assessment, you’ll engage with your community in meaningful and impactful ways.

During your internship you’ll work with a site that aligns with your interests and availability in supporting community health.

Humboldt is home to several institutes, labs, and programs, which can give you real world experience, including: the Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research, and the California Center for Rural Policy, Fall Prevention Program, OhSNAP, Student Health Center, Food Sovereignty Lab and Full Life Institute.

Submit an online application through Cal State Apply and pay the non‑refundable $70 application fee.
Upload copies of all academic transcripts, test scores, and diplomas once access to the Applicant Status Page is granted.
Provide proof of English‑language proficiency unless eligible for a waiver.
Submit required immigration documents, including a passport copy, Certificate of Finances, and proof of funding, for I‑20 issuance.
First‑time freshman applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 and meet English proficiency requirements.
