Our four-year Physical Education - Health and Safety PK-12 program will meet both state and national standards. Oklahoma State competencies for licensure. Society of Health and Physical Education (SHAPE America) professional recommendations. So not only will you get a degree, you will earn a degree that is backed by two highly respected standards.

Strategic Programs

The objective of this program is to enable the student to acquire an essential knowledge base, skills, and a philosophical foundation for how to make successful and professional decisions that are required for teachers/coaches in public and private schools. Courses required for this major are congruent with Oklahoma state competencies and Society of Health and Physical Education (SHAPE America) professional recommendations.

Career Opportunities

When you graduate with a degree in physical education from Southern Nazarene University , you will have the preparation to become fully certified to teach health and physical education in pre-k through 12 grade in the state of Oklahoma.
The Southern Nazarene University Physical Education and Health degree is a nationally recognized and accredited teacher education program under CAEP (Council for Accreditation of the Educator Preparation).
