Overview

To keep up with the changing needs of employers, media outlets and publics, our Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Strategic Communication program continues to evolve. Other programs with degrees in Public Relations still teach only tactics. At the University of Central Missouri, we’ve grown from a mass communication degree to a communications and journalism degree and finally to a PRSA-certified bachelor’s degree program that integrates strategy and skills throughout the curriculum.

Program Learning Outcomes

The graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communication at the University of Central Missouri will use the knowledge and skills obtained in the program to:

Demonstrate Public Relations driven knowledge and understanding.

Demonstrate written, oral and visual communication knowledge and application proficiency for Public Relations purposes.

Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making proficiency relevant to Public Relations purposes.
