Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies covers a complex variety of theoretical and empirical scholarship both within traditional disciplines and in transdisciplinary frames in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, as well as combinations of the three. The programme at Binghamton University is committed to critical perspectives and bodies of knowledge that contribute to possibilities for transformation and change.

Toward this end, WGSS courses at Binghamton University emphasize participatory education in which student involvement, critical thinking, and personal insight are encouraged and made relevant in the learning process. Faculty members from a variety of disciplines offer regular courses in WGSS. Each semester the WGSS programme publishes a list of courses relevant to the programme.
