You’ll learn about events of the past from ancient China to contemporary America, as well as the philosophical and practical problems of political organization, collective action, and governance in the modern world. The joint History and Political Science programme of Rutgers University is an integrated programme consisting of 45 credit hours from the combined disciplines.

Programme Structure

The History Component of the History/Political Science Joint Major will include the following courses:

At least one course in each of the three following areas: 1) United States History, European History, Global, African, Asian, Latin American, or Native American history

At least one course in the history of some period prior to 1500 A.D. (pre-modern course- click here)

At least four courses at the 300-400 level.
