- In addition, the programme offers a number of funded graduate teaching and research assistantships to qualified students.
- Chapman students can apply to the HCOM M.S. program during their junior year. Students will receive conditional admission to the programme, pending completion of their B.A. degree as stipulated in the graduate catalog.
- If accepted to the M.S. programme, students can take up to 12 graduate credits during their senior year as an undergraduate student that be used to satisfy both the undergraduate graduation requirements AND count toward the M.S. in Health and Strategic Communication.

General requirements
- I. Completion of the following B.A. Communication Studies core courses: COM 100, COM 295 by the spring of their junior year. These courses:
- May only have been taken once.
- Must have been taken for a letter grade.
- Must compute to a core GPA ≥ 3.300.
- II. During the junior year, the student seeking early admission must schedule an interview with Graduate Admissions Director, Dr. Mark Hopson (mahopson@chapman.edu) and Graduate Director, Dr. Michelle Miller-Day (millerda@chapman.edu) to review requirements and establish a plan to successfully complete the requirements for admission.
- COM 295 (Introduction to Research Methods) and COM 498 (Senior Seminar).
- All B.A. in Communication Studies degree requirements are completed and degree is conferred by the University.
- Cumulative GPA at graduation ≥ 3.300.
