The Business Administration - Finance program of the University at Buffalo provides a cost and time efficient means to increase a student’s career potential.

This is a five-year program combining undergraduate and graduate coursework that will help you to accelerate your business career with a focused graduate-level education where you will gain strong analytical skills, academic training and practical tools that financial market employers are seeking in their ideal candidates. At the graduate level, students choose an academic and career track from the following options:

Learning outcomes for the programs are determined and continuously updated through discussion with the faculty group responsible for delivery of the courses in the program, as well as external stakeholders such as the School of Management’s Deans Advisory Council and recruiters of our students.

In a volatile financial economy, employers seek future leaders like you with advanced knowledge to make sound financial decisions. You will gain the strong analytical skills, academic training and practical tools that financial market employers are seeking in their ideal candidates.

UB’s MS Finance qualifies as a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) program in Financial Mathematics, which provides an additional 24 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT) for F-1 visa holders who begin their programs in fall 2016 or later.

Admission to UB’s freshman class is selective and is based in part on the quality of your secondary school academic record and the number of spaces available in the class

You should feel confident applying to UB if you have an above-average academic record and have taken challenging courses in high school to help prepare you to be successful at university

UB uses a 4.0 grading scale and we expect students applying here to have the equivalent of a 3.0 on that scale. That is the same as a grade of B or 83 on a 100-point scale
