Program Highlights

As a student in this Criminal Justice program from Post University , you will develop skills in report writing, finger-printing, and crime scene documentation. You will gain wellounded knowledge in the areas of law enforcement, forensic science, corporate security, criminal investigation, and corrections, including probation, parole, and imprisonment. Through in-class discussions and off-site learning opportunities, you will:

  • Examine the structure of the American criminal justice system and branches of government, their functions and how they interrelate with juvenile and adult proceedings
  • Analyze and apply the U.S. Constitution to contemporary issues in criminal justice
  • Assess theories relating to the causation of crime and criminal activity and identify the categories of crimes, penalties and their defenses
  • Demonstrate an understanding of ethical and professional responsibility
  • Develop and demonstrate effective communication on a college level to write and articulate criminal justice principles in the field

Though not required, we encourage and aid you in your search for internships that will grant you hands-on access to work in the field. Our students have found opportunities with the FBI, local and municipal police departments, forensic labs, courthouses, and nonprofits that serve as diversionary programs through court support services.

General Requirements

  • Possess a General Education Development (GED) certificate or state-specific equivalent diploma.
  • Possess a Home Study certificate or transcript from a Home Study program that is equivalent to high school level and recognized by the applicant’s home state, and they must be beyond the age of compulsory attendance in that state.

Applicants must attest to high school graduation or equivalent. Acceptable forms of attestation may include proof of graduation included on the FAFSA, or any document deemed acceptable by the US Department of Education.
