Overview

There are three sequences (tracks) available. Each sequence maintains the same required Journalism Core and highlights different areas within the field of journalism.

The News-Editorial sequence focuses on developing reporting, writing and editing skills. The Public Relations sequence focuses on the study of communication between an organization and its publics. The New Media sequence focuses on journalism through the ever-changing social media platforms.

Many students create a newsletter and magazine each year highlighting news for the University. Students in the Journalism program offered by Baylor University are also involved with the University newspaper, the Baylor Lariat, and are encouraged to take part in all the University publications to develop their skills and build their portfolio.
