Overview

The Art program at University of Miami fosters participation and appreciation in the visual arts for students with specialized interests and abilities preparing for careers in the production and interpretation of art and art history.

The B.A. requires a minimum of 36 credit hours in the department with a grade of C or higher. The B. A. major is also required to have a minor outside the department. Minor requirements are specified by each department and are listed in the Bulletin.

The B.F.A. requires a minimum of 72 credit hours in the department, a grade of C or higher in each course, a group exhibition and at least a 3.0 average in departmental courses. The B.F.A. major is not required to have a minor outside the department.

Complete and submit the Common Application. Upon submitting, you will be asked to pay a $70 nonrefundable application fee.

If you have attended a secondary school outside of the United States, you must submit your official secondary school documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, examination results, etc.)

We require you to submit two letters of recommendation: one from a high school guidance counselor and one from a teacher.

The University of Miami is need-aware for first-year international undergraduate applicants. This means that, for a portion of international applicants, the Admission Committee will consider that student’s ability to pay tuition without the need for financial aid.
