Concentrating your studies in a major region of the world (East Asia, Europe, Latin America, or North Africa & the Middle East), you will become an “expert” in that particular part of the world.
Accumulate in-depth knowledge and practical experience through a combination of studies in political science, history, and modern languages focused on your chosen region both inside the classroom as well as outside the classroom via completion of both an International Affairs internship as well as an Education Abroad Program at a non-US university.
Outcomes
By the time you complete this program at the University of North Georgia, you will have gained a deep understanding of world politics and how the international system operates, and achieved insight into the myriad sub-fields of international relations including diplomacy, international law, political economy, and international organizations.

General requirements
- 16 or older before the first day of class.
- You must be a high school graduate.
- You must prove English proficiency.
- International applicants who are considered as a traditional freshman (graduated from high school less than 5 years ago) or considered as a freshman/transfer (graduated from high school less than 5 years ago and have less than 30 transferable college hours) must submit official SAT or ACT scores and meet traditional freshman criteria.
- If you are required to complete Accuplacer testing, please note that the Accuplacer testing will need to be completed before an admissions decision is made. If you are located close to a UNG campus – you can complete this testing at UNG’s Dahlonega, Gainesville or Oconee campus. If you are located outside of Georgia or the US, please contact UNG’s Testing Center to schedule a remote Accuplacer test.
