The Marketing programme offered by the Chatham University provides the foundational understanding of business and organizations that is crucial to all careers, especially in an increasingly global and interconnected economy. The core curriculum in economics, accounting, organizational behavior, and statistics provides a rigorous foundation for highly specialized coursework within specific majors. All Chatham students are required to complete at least one internship, which connects classroom learning with real-world experience.
Marketing is a unique combination of art and science, creativity and rigor, innovation and fundamentals. Marketing majors obtain the full range of knowledge and skills needed to develop cutting edge marketing strategy and tactics. The program enables students to develop analytical and practical insights for leveraging business growth opportunities across industries and within targeted populations. Special emphasis is placed on ethical marketing practice and adaptation to new technologies, changing consumer preferences, environmental sustainability and a rapidly expanding global economy.
Although the courses are not part of the major requirements, a year of calculus should be considered a prerequisite for those students going on to graduate school.
