Program Description

Students in the Elementary Education program at Arkansas State University experience multiple field experiences to ensure a strong foundation of applied skills as well as knowledge of child development, best practices, and content.

Early Childhood Teaching Endorsement

The Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education allows for teachers holding a license for grades K-6 to obtain an Early Childhood Teaching Endorsement for teaching ages 3 and 4. Students currently enrolled in the K – 6 undergraduate BSE in Elementary Education, or the MAT in Elementary Education, may complete the requirements while simultaneously completing these BSE or MAT degrees. The three-and-four-year-old endorsement consisting of 4 courses and a PRAXIS will be added to the K - 6 teaching license. The Early Childhood Teaching Endorsement may be obtained at the undergraduate or graduate level. All courses are offered online.
