This Bachelor in Deaf Studies - Interpreting Emphasis programs at Utah Valley University provides an opportunity for students and focuses on helping them to gain interpreting skills and certification. There is currently an intense shortage of interpreters for the Deaf across the United States. 

Utah Valley University offers two distinct programs to prepare students to enter the interpreting profession: The Novice-Level Interpreter Preparation Program (NLIPP) and the Advanced Certification Interpreter Preparation Program (ACIPP). These programs can accommodate students of any skill level and courses fit right into the Deaf Studies degree requirements. 


Interpreters work in a wide variety of settings: educational, medical, community, theater, legal, and job-related.
