The program familiarizes students with diverse aspects of sports communication including sports journalism, promotion and publicity, production and performance, and sports media relations. Students are prepared for management positions in professional, collegiate and amateur sports; jobs in sports media including radio and television stations and networks, print publications, and Internet sports; and as sports information and communication specialists.
A major economic and global cultural phenomenon, the sports industry today is much more than the competition of athletes. No other sports communication program embraces the power of journalism, broadcasting, public relations, advertising, entertainment, and the strengths of the interactive online community.
This program examines sports as a social, cultural and communicative force. Through classroom study, student-faculty research and Bradley’s Sports Communication Resource Center, students experience firsthand the global reach and power of sports.
