By taking the Criminal Justice at Auburn University at Montgomery you’ll take at least one course from each of the specialization options – law enforcement, courts, corrections, juvenile justice, homeland security, emergency management, and security administration.

The Department Head is an experienced former Deputy Chief of Police of a Southern California Police Department.

Our full-time faculty have published scholarly books and numerous peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals, including Criminal Justice Studies, Police Quarterly, International Journal of Police Science & Management, Homicide Studies, International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology, and Criminology & Penology.

Our full-time faculty have presented papers at annual conferences such as the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the American Society of Criminology.

All of our legal studies faculty members are lawyers who continue to practice law.

A completed AUM online application; no application fee.
Your official high school transcript (which should be mailed or e-mailed directly to AUM from your high school) and official English translation if your transcript is not in English.
Proof of English proficiency (unless you are exempt). You can take the TOEFL IBT (minimum 61 points), the IELTS (minimum 5.5 points), PTE (minimum 44), or the TOEFL PBT (minimum 500 points). More information about English proficiency test requirements.
Proof of sufficient financial resources (Bank statement and/or letter from your sponsor in English). The bank statement should show at least $28,625 available.
