Overview

Our department faculty have over half a century of combined experience in marketing, coaching, and team management. With the guidance of these experts, students study:

governance and management of amateur and professional sports;
sport facility management;
event management;
high school and collegiate athletics administration; and

sponsorship and sales.

Every Nichols College student goes through an internship, gaining valuable experience and expanding their network—which comes in handy post-graduation. Recent Sport Management students have interned at Madison Square Garden, the New York Rangers, the Boston Red Sox, and the New York Knicks, just to name a few. The opportunities are plentiful; whatever area you choose, Nichols will prepare you for a leading role.

General requirements

Official high school transcripts. Transcripts should include at least one set of marking period grades for your senior year.
Official SAT (CEEB code 3666), ACT (code 1878), or TOEFL (if international student) scores; or, you may apply as test optional. Students with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale may choose to waive SAT or ACT scores. Students with below a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.6 or higher will be required to conduct a brief interview. Interviews may be conducted on campus, via Skype, or by phone.
One letter of recommendation. Preferably from a guidance counselor or teacher.
Essay / personal statement.
