History
Nichols Academy was founded by Amasa Nichols, a wealthy Dudley industrialist. Samuel Slater, “the father of cotton manufacture in the United States,” who owned mills in the nearby town of Webster, was an early benefactor.
Textile manufacturer Hezekiah Conant donated three buildings during the 1800s; Academy Hall, Conant Hall and the Chapel. Nichols Academy closed in 1909.
Education
Nichols undergrads can choose between a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts, with diverse studies built around student passions and employer demand. Our curriculum is regularly updated to meet the professional needs of tomorrow's business landscape, and taught by industry veterans who know what it takes to succeed in the job market.
Career
Nichols signature Professional Development Seminar (PDS) Program is a four-year program of one credit academic courses. Coursework logically builds on the prior year, with first-year students making the transition to college and discovering what it takes to succeed; second-year students learning how to represent themselves and develop their professional brand; third-year students refining their interviewing and networking skills; and fourth-year students launching successful careers.
