EHS is a huge field with a large variety of career opportunities. There is no shortage of jobs in the field with starting salaries ranging from $40,000-$65,000 depending on the job location. Private industry usually starts out around $55,000 and above. There are also a lot of opportunities for students to go to graduate school for free through different grants and fellowship opportunities awarded only to students pursuing EHS or related fields of study.

Faculty accomplishments – Our faculty set the department apart. Most of our faculty have 10 years or more of EHS work experience prior to coming to academia. With that experience, students receive a unique, real-world application in the classroom that will better serve them in the profession. Our faculty put students first and go above and beyond to help students while in the program and even after they graduate.

The EHS program at EKU is one of only 31 accredited programs in the nation and the ONLY accredited program in the state of Kentucky. We offer one of the largest programs in the nation and it is considered one of the benchmark programs for EHS.

Approximately 125,000 jobs are listed in the field of environmental health annually for only a few hundred environmental health graduates.

Fill out the free online application. Students must indicate the major they wish to pursue in order for an I-20 to be issued.
Submit a copy of your valid passport
Submit transcripts:

Complete secondary school records reflecting a cumulative grade of 75% (2.5 GPA equivalent) or higher.

Submit an official copy of your high school diploma or graduation certificate (if applicable).
Provide a declaration of finances - A Certificate of Eligibility (I-20 or DS-2019) will not be authorized until financial verification is received. Providing false information may jeopardize visa status and result in the University revoking acceptance. U.S. immigration law requires international students to prove they have funds available for their educational and living expenses.
