You'll create hands-on programs, events, and community activities that inform others on healthy choices. Our top-notch dietetics program prepares you to become eligible to apply for a dietetic internship and upon successful completion of the internship, you will be ready to complete your education through a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics.

Highlights

With the Dietetics undergraduate program from Central Michigan University, you'll:

Study a curriculum based on criteria from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Gain 30 hours of hands-on experience in the community, putting all of the knowledge and skills you have learned into practice other programs rarely have this type of fieldwork embedded in their program.

Have internship experiences that are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND); this is the only accreditation for eligibility to take the Registered Dietitian exam.

Receive personal attention and develop mentoring relationships with seven full-time faculty; class sizes average 35 students or less.

General requirements

We take several things into consideration when evaluating applications for admission, including GPA, test scores (optional) and academic improvement over time.

As part of the online application, you’ll need to pay a $40 application fee. If your family is experiencing financial hardship, speak to your high school guidance counselor to see whether you qualify for a fee waiver.

You may submit an unofficial transcript with your application, or ask your school counselor to submit your official transcript. We can provide an admission decision and merit scholarship with either one. Keep us updated with new transcripts at the end of each semester. It may mean an upgrade in your scholarship.

You don’t have to submit a test score in order to be admitted and earn a merit award.
