The D. C. Drake Endowed Undergraduate Award was established in 2019 by D. C. Drake (Class of 1989), this endowment supports a scholarship for at least one undergraduate student annually who demonstrates financial need.

Eligibility

  • All undergraduate students are eligible to apply regardless of major or field of study.
  • CMU Undergraduate Student 
  • Must demonstrate financial need 
  • Must be from an historically underrepresented community within the United States (The VP/Chief Diversity Officer is afforded the discretion to determine and define the communities qualifying as "historically underrepresented" 
  • Must demonstrate an active commitment to the participation of underrepresented communities in educational pursuits 
  • Must submit a letter of recommendation from an organization, educator, or community leader where the student played a mentorship or leadership role 
  • Preference will be given to Pell grant recipients
